New Technology, training and public funding: A case for greater flexibility

This report follows on from the findings of the Shared Technology report which suggested that further research examine how innovative companies are approaching the task of training in new technologies. Additionally is a review of the issues facing publicly-funded and privately-funded training providers who are addressing the needs of companies who are training in new technology.

Shared Technology: A roadmap for traditional and emerging industries to 2008 - first report.

Issues Paper for the Shared Technology Project
This document sets out the background for the project and raises a number of issues relating to what the term new technology means, the development of computer literacy across the population, the increased use of computers within workplace processes and education and training. In addition to this there is a brief examination of some of the newer products being adopted by the industries being covered in this report.
