Cooperative Research Centres (CRCs) are part of the CRC Program which was set up in 1990 to strengthen collaborative research links between industry, research organisations, educational institutions and relevant government agencies . This is achieved by setting in place formal strategic long-term (7 year) agreements between research providers and research users in the public and private sectors.
